Adventure Biking with the Bass'

Last spring we sat with my parents in a Seattle Hospital room where my Dad was seeing doctors about upcoming cancer treatment. During our visit we told them about ideas for our first big 4000 mile trip through 5 western states. They listened with such painful looks on their faces when Mom finally said, only as Mom's can, "What if something happens"? We looked at at each other and responded "We hope something does". This is a running log of our adventures.

Day 10 - First day back on the bikes.

Had a wonderful break at Faye and Vergils.

Today's ride was about 100 miles through Longbeach, Huntington Beach, balboa Island, and down the coast to Oceanside. We tried to stay on the ocen most of the way and it was a beautiful ride. Weather was mostly clear and in the mid 70's.

We will head east tomorrow toward the Salton Sea over the mountians on a couple of dirt detours, through Joshua Tree National park and sleep near Palm Springs.
