Day 7 - Trapped?

One last look at the Sunset at Kirk Creek campground Ca HWY1.
We were told the road south along the Ocean was open, so the ride into Pismo was to be a short one. About 10 miles south of kirk Creek the cliff side covered the road and state trucks were digging it out. The workers said the road would be open in a day or two which forced us to backtrack up Nacimiento Rd to the valley, G14 past Lk San Antonio, south 101 into Pismo Beach.

Dry weather and a clear morning. Temps around 60.
The Raccoons had their way with our bikes in the night. They unzipped Wendys tank bag and ate all her snacks. Muddy little footprints all over both bikes.
The few miles we did ride south before the road closure were great.

Back up Nacimiento road except this time no stopping. I lead and she follows as fast as we can go for 24 miles. What a fun ride! In a car you would puke yer guts out on this road if you're not driving.

We stopped back in at Hunter Liggett to gas up and we even had lunch at the Military Chow hall before hitting the road.

Jolon Road south on G14 to a "T" where we stopped and got a snack from "Juan the Strawberry guy". Left turn into Paso Robles.

Arrived in Pismo Beach around 3 pm and took a long walk on the beach. Surfers were out and the water was COOOOLD! Scored a nice room on the water and enjoyed another California sunset together.
