Today we are doing the Hoover dam and the new bridge. This ride took us about an hour and was really tough due to the 50 kt winds. We were not sure if we would make the drive but were glad we did. When visiting the Dam be prepared to drop some cash. Parking $7, to get into the visitors center $8, to take a Dam tour $30. What ever happened to "This Land is Your land"?
Regardless of the price it's worth the trip.
We first took a drive over the new bridge. You can't really see much from the road. They have high walls on each side to protect the roadway from wind. I did stand up on my bike and look over the side and it was amazing.
We then took a drive over the dam itself. I was told you were not allowed to drive over so this was a nice surprise.
Took a long walking tour of the dam and you really get an awesome view of the new bridge better from below.
Sorry there are no pix of the dam but I took it all with the video cam instead.
